Shay Geraghty is a certified Physician Assistant and founder of Integrative Health Solutions by Shay. She opened Integrative Health Solutions due to her frustration with the traditional medical system, and her desire to see her patients not only survive, but thrive, in the second half of their lives.

Shay personalizes a wellness journey for each of her patients, helping them incorporate positive lifestyle changes, while offering them natural tools for improved health and vitality. Her goal is to help each one of her patients live a long, healthy and prosperous life.

EDUCATION

Shay’s education includes an undergraduate degree in Food Science and Nutrition from Clemson University, and both a Master's degree in Nutrition and Physician Assistant degree from the University of Florida.

EXPERIENCE

Shay has been practicing medicine in South Florida for 27 years. She started her career in Family Practice, then spent many years caring for the sick as an Internal Medicine P.A.- working long hours in the office, hospital, long term care facilities, and making house calls.

Over that time, she witnessed firsthand the toll that chronic disease has on an individual and the ineffectual approaches offered by traditional medicine. It most often relies upon pharmaceutical agents as Band-Aids to treat underlying symptoms, rarely getting to the root cause of that patient’s illness.

Understanding the benefits of lifestyle medicine, Shay excitedly took a job in Functional, or Root-Cause Medicine, in 2021.

INTEGRATIVE HEALTH SOLUTIONS

In January 2023, Shay started her own practice - opening Integrative Health Solutions by Shay. Integrative Medicine combines the strategies from both Eastern and Western Medicine, incorporating first-line more natural and comprehensive approaches, such as lifestyle changes (nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management), along with supplements (vitamins, minerals, herbs) and bio-identical hormones and peptides. Shay's approach is to help her patients discover the root cause of their ailments, while offering them a comprehensive, more personalized approach to their health and healing.

PERSONAL HISTORY

Shay has learned from her own health struggles. Suffering from acne as a teenager and young adult, she was placed on multiple rounds of antibiotics (which we now understand negatively impacts our gut and immune health). Shay then went on to suffer daily migraines, weight gain and fatigue. She was later diagnosed with Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism- an autoimmune thyroid condition. This ultimately contributed to more gut issues - a condition called SIBO- Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth.

SIBO caused symptoms such as bloating, gas and constipation. The gut issues then resulted in more skin issues... such as Rosacea and Eczema.

Through Functional/ Root-Cause Medicine, Shay was able to understand how our body is like a Symphony- when one section is out of tune (off balance), then this throws the rest of the body out of balance.

Unfortunately, Shay was offered no health or healing from her traditional medicine colleagues or education.

Shay is now grateful for these health struggles, and her introduction to Integrative Medicine.  Through the Institute of Functional Medicine, and other Root-Cause medicine platforms, Shay continues to learn and grow- taking courses, doing webinars, and listening to podcasts.

OUR GOAL

Shay's goal is to collaborate with her patients, helping them to achieve the health and vitality that they deserve!

If you are frustrated with the traditional medicine route, likely being told that your symptoms are "normal"- just a normal process of "aging"- I am here to tell you that this is NOT true. You CAN take back your health, and feel good again.

MEET Cammy Lake

FSU-Florida-State-University-Logo.png

Meet Cammy, a certified Physician Assistant who is passionate about helping people feel genuinely better and understand their health on a deeper level. She believes good healthcare starts with listening to the whole story, not just looking at a list of symptoms or treating one problem at a time.

EDUCATION

Cammy earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Florida State University and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University. Her experience in psychiatry and orthopedic rehabilitative medicine has shaped the way she approaches patient care and given her a strong appreciation for the connection between the mind and body.

EXPERIENCE

During her time in psychiatry, Cammy saw firsthand that mental health is about much more than prescribing medication. While medication can be an important and valuable part of treatment, she believes it is essential to look at the bigger picture—sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress, relationships, daily routines, and the many other factors that can influence how a person feels mentally and physically.

Her experience in orthopedic rehabilitative medicine further strengthened her belief in the importance of movement, strength, and physical function. Seeing how pain, mobility, lifestyle, and mental well-being can all influence one another reinforced her belief that the different parts of our health cannot truly be separated. â€‹â€‹â€‹

Cammy also has a personal passion for fitness and is a certified group fitness instructor. Movement and exercise have always been an important part of her own life, and she loves helping others find ways to incorporate movement into their lives that are enjoyable and sustainable.

Her interest in functional medicine is also personal. Navigating her own experience with PCOS (Polycystic ovarian syndrome) has given Cammy a deeper appreciation for how complex health can be and how important it is for patients to feel heard, ask questions, and understand the “why” behind their symptoms.

To Cammy, functional medicine is about meeting patients where they are. She doesn't believe wellness has to mean being perfect or completely changing everything overnight. Instead, she focuses on realistic, individualized steps that can build into lasting changes over time.

Most importantly, Cammy wants her patients to know that “common” and “normal” are not always the same thing. Just because a symptom or health concern is common does not mean you have to accept it as something you simply have to live with. She believes patients deserve the opportunity to understand what is happening in their bodies, ask questions, and look deeper when something doesn't feel right.
